Free Initial Assessment Phone Call
Our mediator Elizbeth Gibson offers a free initial 10-minute call to each client to discuss how mediation works, following which, an initial individual meeting will be arranged to fully explain the mediation process and assess if mediation is appropriate for you, .
First Joint Session
If you both agree mediation is the right path forward, you will be asked to sign an Agreement to Mediate. Elizabeth will arrange your first joint session at a time that is convenient for you both to attend together, either in person or on zoom. Often agreements can be reached in three to six 60-minute joint sessions.
Working Together to Resolve Issues
At each joint session you’ll identify the key issues that you wish to discuss and need to resolve as part of your divorce or separation, with Elizabeth facilitating a conversation between you in a confidential, safe and neutral space, to help you both reach informed decisions at your own pace, providing you with sustainable and workable solutions.
Formalise Agreements
Upon reaching a successful outcome, Elizabeth will record this in a Memorandum of Understanding and provide an open Financial Statement for financial matters, and a Parenting Plan for child-related issues. Whilst these documents are not legally binding, they can be used by each person’s solicitor to formalise any agreements into a legal document.
