TfL may suspend a private hire licence prior to a charge or conviction if they believe the licence holder is not “fit and proper” upon review of the initial evidence provided. The suspension will remain in force pending the outcome of any police investigation or court proceedings. In some cases, TfL may decide to revoke a private hire licence irrespective of the outcome of a criminal investigation or court proceedings.
